Our Weekend
365/48 – Daddy’s Home
Daddy returned home from his first week of business travel and brought the sun with him! He and John Charles enjoyed relaxing in the warm sun after a lot of outdoors play.
365/49 – At the Park
We spent time at the park soaking up the sun this weekend!
365/50 – My Shelter
John Charles playing in the fort that he built with Daddy’s help.

Little Hands
365/47
I wanted to capture a shot of John Charles’ hands while they’re still baby hands. Soon those dimples will be knuckles.

Our Week So Far - Mommytography
365/43 – Spring is Near!
I was so excited to see the daffodils, tulips and other bulb plants coming up. That’s a sure sign that spring is near!
365/44 – Good Morning Sunshine
I love the morning sun and the way it spills into the house in the morning.
365/45 – A whole new world
The economy has had a devastating effect on Randy’s business. As a result, he has found it necessary to accept a position with another company. He went on the road with his new job this week. He’s been in Indiana and while traveling too and from he’s experienced snow storms like he’s never seen.

This Week’s Photos - Mommytography
365/37 - Hearts and Cardinals
John Charles’ circle time activities for the week focused on Valentine’s Day and hearts. We studied Cardinals during nature study. Here are 2 of his coloring sheets from the week – a cardinal and a box of chocolates.
365/38 – Thomas
Thomas and Friends ready for playtime.
365.39 – Hearts
Hearts are everywhere!
365/40 – Legos
Look what I made! Ok, Dad did most of the work, but John Charles doesn’t realize it.
365/41 – Sunshine Cottage in the Snow
Here in the south metro Atlanta area we got 4 inches of snow! It was beautiful, but I’m glad that it’s melting quickly.
365/42 – Winter Berries
I love the bright red amongst the white snow.

Photos - Mommytography
Here are the latest photos that I have to share. Hope you enjoy them!
365/31 - Blue Eyes
Zach’s Husky Jasper has the most beautiful blue eyes. Besides the fact that he “talks back” when he doesn’t want to obey our commands, he has a wonderful disposition too.
365-32 – Nature Table
We’ve found so many wonderful treasures from nature this winter that our nature table can’t hold much more!
365/33 – Dessert
A crystal stemmed glass makes even a less than ordinary dessert seem special.
365/34 – Valentine’s Table Top
Our wedding invitation, velvet boxes, candles, and Willow Tree ornaments from Valentine’s past all adorn a side table decorated for Valentine’s Day.
365/35 – Toys on the Table
Some of John Charles’ toys left out on the coffee table. I believe that one day he’ll remember to clean up after himself. Until then, I’ll try to be thankful for a home with toys left here and there, and remember that it shelters a happy child.
365/36 – Blue Sky
Beautiful blue skies are such a delight after so many grey and rainy days.

Random Shots - Mommytography
I didn’t have a theme for this week’s photos. These are just random shots from around the house.
Who couldn’t love that face!
365/17 – Shadow and Light - Tuesday
Just a shadow on Sunshine Cottage that caught my eye.
365/18 – Ready for Spring! - Wednesday
The sunny and warm weather that we’ve been enjoying this week has me longing to clean these pots and planters up and start Spring planting.
365/19 – Yum! - Thursday
I had never made a homemade chicken pot pie until this week. The crust on my first one was crispier than we like so I had to get Mama to send me her recipe. One cup flour, one cup milk, and one stick of butter. Simple enough and delicious too!
365/20 - At the Lake

Red Week - Mommytography
I haven’t been feeling very inspired with my photography lately. Last week I needed a challenge in deciding what to photograph. I gave myself an easy challenge too! I simply chose the color red. I chose that color because I was in my bedroom at the time and the walls of my room happen to be red!
365/9 – Above Our Bed - Monday
This sign hangs above our bed. It comes from one of Browning’s poems.
365/10 – The Red Letters - Tuesday
There is life in the red letters! I couldn’t make it through a day without them. My Bible is so worn, but like they say “If your Bible is in good condition then your soul probably isn’t”.
365/11 – Red PJ’s - Wednesday
John Charles bathed and ready for bed. I love that smile!
365/12 – Red Jacket - Thursday
Zach doesn’t wear read very often, but I think he’s very handsome in it!
365/13 – Valentine’s Decor - Friday
The house is decorated for Valentine’s Day and love is in the air!
365/14 – Music Man - Saturday
John Charles is our music man. He loves making up his own songs for us and playing his red guitar.
365/15 – Red Wagon - Sunday
John Charles with his red wagon. Yep, those are pajamas he’s wearing. It was a beautiful and warm Georgia morning so we enjoyed breakfast on the back porch and John Charles played while we ate.

Mommytography – Weekly Wrap up
I began the Mommytography challenge this week and posted a few photos earlier in the week. Here are the rest of the photos I took this week.
365/4 –Wednesday – Winter Activities
We usually have a mild winter in Georgia with little snow or ice. That means that we don’t get to enjoy a lot of activities associated with winter. One thing that I consider a favorite winter activity of ours is read-a-louds. I think that the Little House series of books makes wonderful winter time read-a-louds. We are currently reading Little House in the Big Woods. I hope for us to be able to re read the entire series this winter.
365/5 – Thursday – Winter Nature Table
I cleared the Christmas items from our nature table this week. We’ve added a few winter items to the table instead.
365/6 – Friday – Baking Day
I don’t know if it’s the Little House books or the cold weather, but I’ve been in the mood for baking. Baking just makes the house feel so homey. The scents, the warmth, the goodness – I love it all. John Charles enjoyed helping me mix a batch of brownies on baking day.
365/7 – Saturday – Party Time
John Charles has thrown several parties for us this week. Here’s the table at one of those parties. Pizza, cake, cupcakes, and there’s also cookies behind that cake.
