I am proud to be from the South - where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come w/ gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. Tuesday March 8

Dinner is almost ready and John Charles is asking for a popsicle. When I told him no, he said "But Mom, this the Tuesday that we're supposed to eat a lot and get fat!"

 

Wednesday March 9

If someone asks, "How are you?" What are you going to say? Are you sick or are you healed? You have to settle it. You can't be both at the same time. Whatever you have established in prayer, that's what you are...even before you see it!

I'm not looking forward to baseball practice. 7:30 is too late for 5&6 year olds to start practice and it's going to be cold once the sun goes down!

Heaven's New Angel - My Aunt Dianne Evans
Miss Dianne Evans, age 60, of 240 North Green Street, died Monday Night in Upson Regional Medical Center. Miss Evans was a native of Nicholls, Georgia. She had been a resident of Upson County for 58 years. Miss Evans was a client of the Gilmore Center for 45 years. She was a member of Clark's C...hapel Baptist Church and a member of the Church Choir, the WMU, The Senior Citizens, and the Ludie Mabry Sunday School Class. She resided at Avera Estates. Miss Evans is survvied by: 3 Sisters - Mrs. Joann Peoples, of Thomaston; Mrs. Carol (Ronnie) Meeks, of Alma; and Mrs Marilyn (Reggie) Salter, of Jacksonville, florida; 2 Brothers - Mr. Danny (Ann) Evans, of Thomaston; and Mr. Charles (Ellen) Evans, of Jesup. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home (map/driving directions)

The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important.

Lord, give me discernment to hear Your voice on how to homeschool my children, so they are effective witnesses for You. Help me ground them in Your Word and fertilize them with Your truths, so they not only survive in the world, but also flourish and change it. In Jesus' name, Amen.

None of us have been in the mood for school today. It's taking longer than ever to complete the simplest of lessons and John Charles is asking for a nap. A nap! This is not a normal day at all!

Lord, thank You for Your loving kindness toward me every morning. Strengthen me today to fulfill the call You have placed on my life. I spend most of my computer time visiting Facebook these days.  As a result, my blog is being neglected.  My friend FiFi at ~there’s more to this life~ mentioned the same thing on her blog.  She’s decided to create a weekly blog post of her Facebook statuses.  It sounds like a great idea to me!  I don’t know that I’ll do it every week, but I am going to do it today.
