How was your weekend? We had enjoyed a beautiful weekend in South Georgia. This weekend was the 2010 Evans Family Reunion in Nicholls Georgia. On Friday we drove to my parents’ South Georgia home and stayed with them for the weekend.
Their town still has a Drive Inn Movie theater and after dinner, on Friday night, we decided to go to the Drive Inn. The theater has 2 screens and for $7 for adults and $3 for children you can see a double feature. We took John Charles to see How to Train Your Dragon and Bounty Hunter was playing afterwards. At the end of the Dragon movie we were all tired so we didn’t stay for the second movie. It was our first time ever going to a Drive Inn, so it was fun to do something different.
Saturday was the day of the reunion. It was held at General Coffee State Park which we enjoyed. The cypress swamp is beautiful and we enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and taking in the scenery.
After the reunion, Randy and I had a little date night. We had fried shrimp at Captain Joe’s, which is one of our favorite restaurants down south.
Sunday we packed up and headed home. Traffic was not bad and we made it home in good time. Once we were home, of course I had to start laundry. I got Randy’s things packed for the week while he got his vehicle loaded.
Now it’s a busy Monday and we’re ready for a great week!
